Defining your pool project: where to begin
It may have been on your mind for months — sometimes even for years — but the moment eventually comes when you decide to build your pool.
Whether starting from scratch or reconsidering an existing design, taking a step back to clarify the project is always worthwhile.
Most future pool owners share the same expectations: enjoyment, relaxation, and an outdoor space that enhances their home. At the same time, they want to avoid turning the pool into a technical burden.

Reading the site
Before drawing a single line, we begin by understanding the place.
The slope of the land, the views, the position of the house and the surrounding landscape all influence the future pool. A pool should never appear as an isolated object placed in a garden — it must belong naturally to its environment.
Whenever possible, we analyse the property directly on site. However, many of our projects are developed remotely. Working internationally has made this approach part of our daily practice. With topographical plans, photographs and sometimes drone images, it is possible to understand the terrain and its perspectives with remarkable accuracy.
This first reading of the site often reveals opportunities that are not immediately visible — a change of level, a view towards the horizon, or an alignment with the architecture that becomes the starting point of the design.
First design ideas
Once the site has been analysed, the first design ideas begin to take shape.
Concept sketches allow us to explore how the pool can integrate with the house, the terraces and the surrounding landscape. At this stage, the objective is not yet to define every technical detail, but to establish the spatial relationships and the overall composition of the project.
Preliminary pool design
The next step is to translate these ideas into a preliminary design.
At this stage, the concept explored in the sketches becomes a structured layout. The position of the pool, its dimensions and its relationship with the house and terraces are clearly defined.
This plan represents the final stage of the preliminary project. It allows the owners to visualise the future pool and validate the main design decisions before moving on to the detailed construction drawings.
A project ready to move forward
The position of the pool, its proportions and its relationship with the architecture and the landscape are now clearly established. The project has reached a level of maturity that allows the next phases to begin.
From this point, the design evolves into more detailed work, preparing the project for its realisation while preserving the architectural vision defined during the early stages.
