ZERO-EDGE POOL WITH TIERED OVERFLOW COMPPOSITION - ONTARIO , CANADA
Set within a wooded estate in Ontario, this custom-designed zero-edge pool echoes the architecture it borders.
Tailored to enhance the site’s natural slope and geometry, the pool blends seamlessly into its surroundings—offering a sense of calm, continuity, and refined functionality.
An international collaboration built on trust and clarity
This project was carried out entirely remotely, through a series of detailed exchanges with the client. From concept to technical execution, each decision was made with care, clarity, and precision—even across borders. Our drawings served as the foundation, guiding the local teams step by step. The result reflects not just our technical expertise, but a shared vision shaped collaboratively.
The design concept : a multi-level water composition
The terrain offered both complexity and opportunity. Mature trees, natural slopes, and existing stone terraces gave the landscape its character—but also demanded a precise design response.
Our client envisioned a pool that would offer architectural harmony, varied depths, and multiple relaxation zones. They imagined a spa, a shallow lounging area, a deep swimming lane, and most importantly, an uninterrupted waterline.
While their goals were clear, the structural and hydraulic interpretation required expert translation. That’s where our role began: not only as designers, but as interpreters of space and flow.
The project is structured as a cascading composition:
A raised spa with soft overflow into the basin below
A shallow lounging area for relaxed immersion
A deep pool zone, gently sloping from 3 to over 8 feet, designed for both swimming and diving
Each section is separated by a silent cascade overflow. These transitions don’t interrupt the water’s surface—they extend it. Around the perimeter, a deck-level mirror effect dissolves the edge between pool and terrace, creating a seamless connection with the landscape.
From every angle, the pool appears as a single, flowing body—its geometry softened by water and framed by trees and sky.
A zero-edge pool engineered for precision, silence, and visual harmony
As always, true beauty begins with invisible structure. This zero-edge pool is engineered to perform quietly and efficiently:
Overflow channels were laser-levelled to maintain a perfectly stable waterline
Hydraulic flows were calculated to prevent turbulence and noise
A fully automated system regulates water balance, overflow returns, and seasonal operation
The automation adapts to climate conditions and usage patterns, ensuring long-term balance and energy efficiency.
Materials were selected for both performance and aesthetics:
A subtle, light-reflective interior finish to enhance brightness without glare
Soft-edged coping for visual continuity and bathing comfort
A terrace finish designed to match local stone tones
Even the spa and lounging area follow the same elevation logic—maintaining a clean mirror line while adding diverse functionality.
The result is a space that feels both sculptural and serene.
Client Testimonial
“The pool was an absolute success. The automatic pool cover installers were absolutely impress, especially with the fact that this was my very first pool build. They said it is amongst one of the best pools they have ever seen in their careers.”
The client feedback speaks to the clarity of our technical documents, the fluid collaboration, and the attention paid to every detail—from design to execution.
